Sustainability

As Beks Çorap, we value sustainability in all our activities. In this context, we aim to continuously improve our processes in order to reduce our environmental impacts. Minimizing our carbon and water footprint by improving our emission, water and waste management activities, protecting the world's resources and providing a healthy tomorrow for future generations form the basis of our sustainability policy.

We are aware of the importance of renewable energy sources to increase energy efficiency. Beks aims to reduce its carbon footprint by investing in solar energy. This is part of a long-term and forward-thinking strategy to increase the use of renewable energy sources and reduce fossil fuel consumption.

The Solar Energy project, consisting of 14,352 panels and 42 inverter roof panels with an installed capacity of 4,620 kWh, was completed in August 2022 and started producing electricity. The fact that the installed capacity is well above the daily maximum use allows excess electricity to be sent back to the main provider depending on the light intensity.

In the fourth quarter of 2022, carbon emissions were reduced by 24% and approximately 1000 tons less CO2 was released. Carbon emissions are planned to be reduced by at least 28% and less CO2 is released for 2023. In fact, we completed 2023 above our expectations with 57% less CO2 emissions thanks to better lighting and high equipment efficiency.

One of the most important steps for ensuring a circular economy and sustainable textiles is the preference for natural and organic materials in production, which ensures the use of materials obtained from renewable resources and recycled materials. Aware of the importance of waste management and recycling as a result of textile production and consumption, we take waste reduction measures.

As Beks Çorap, we are aware of our social role in responsible actions towards nature, society and people at all production stages.
